BASIC SKETCHING

Hiroko Momii (HM-1, HM-2)

  • HM-1: Mondays, 7/6-8/24,1:30-4:30pm
  • HM-2: Mondays, 7/6-8/24, 6:30-9:30pm

$160, Members $130

Learn the basic language and skills of sketching: line, shape, form, proportion, value, space, shading, proportion and perspective, while working with ink, graphite pencil, charcoal and crayon. Class is as much about learning to see as making marks on paper.  Bring 8.5 x 11inch sketchbook.

  • Thursday, 7/9-8/27, 9am-noon

7 classes plus one field trip to be arranged
(Ages 16-adult)

*Pre-requisite: Basic sketching or equivalent class.
Further your knowledge of and deepen your skills in drawing: shape, form, value, proportion, shading, space, perspective and composition. Introduction to color and portrait drawing. Learn to use color pencil and pastel in addition to pencil, ink, brush, pen and charcoal. Lots of demonstrations and drawings, one-on-one instruction and class discussion. Pick up supply list.

Intermediate/Advanced

A DAY FOR ARTISTS

Mondays, 7/6-8/24, 9am-3pm
$180, Members $150
Half-day $130, Members $100

Drop-in rate, space permitting, $25 full-day, $15 half-day (cash or check only).
Draw, paint or *sculpt. No turpentine permitted. Model present at every session. Schedule: 9-11:45AM, life model; 12:15-3pm, costumed model, one pose. 
*If working in clay and piece is to be fired at PVAC, clay must be purchased in the ceramic studio.

LIFE DRAWING STUDIO
