Classes will be held at our temporary, location at the Promenade on the Peninsula,
550 Deep Valley Drive, Suite 261, Rolling hills Estates, (former Border's Books location)
with the exception of our ceramics classes, which will be held at the newly remodeled Palos Verdes Art Center; 5504 West Crestridge Drive, Rancho Palos Verdes.
The Palos Verdes Art Center, a non-profit community arts organization, provides the Palos Verdes Peninsula and South Bay communities with a variety of educational opportunities both at its Crestridge Road facility and in local schools and pre-schools. Community education programs include exhibition tours, speakers and scholarships. Programs for schools range from Art at Your Fingertips to Educator Programs designed to meet California Standards for the Visual Arts.
In its own facility, the Palos Verdes Art Center offers quality visual arts classes (drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, photography, digital arts, art history and more) for all ages from 3 to 103 and for all ability levels from novice to professional. Providing a total visual art experience, classes include visits to the exhibition galleries and interaction with skilled professionals. Instruction is not based on a set formula. Instead, small classes—taught by artists and art educators—focus on individual needs, provide a nurturing environment and help students pursue their own special interests and projects. Private and semi-private lessons also can be arranged.
Terms begin in January, April, July and September. Although class fees are low, there is limited financial assistance for those in need through the Beverly G. Alpay Memorial Education Fund for the Visual Arts.
