Dropping or Canceling Classes

Tuition is based on a minimum of eight students per course. With smaller enrollment, the Palos Verdes Art Center may offer students the option of meeting for fewer weeks. Otherwise the course may be canceled and all tuition refunded. (Memberships are not refundable.)

Except for courses canceled by the Palos Verdes Art Center, there will be a $10 processing fee for any refund.

  • Students dropping courses prior to Thursday, July 3, 2014, will receive full tuition refunds (minus the $10 processing fee).
  • Students dropping courses Saturday, July 5-Monday, July 14, 2014, will receive 70% of the tuition (minus the $10 processing fee).
  • NO TUITION REFUNDS on or after Tuesday, July 15, 2014. When possible, we will help you find an alternative class for this session, but we are unable to issue refunds or credits for future classes.
  • FINAL DAY TO WITHDRAW FROM A CLASS AND RECEIVE 70% REFUND IS MONDAY,  JULY 14, 2014.  NO REFUNDS AFTER THIS DATE.

DISCOUNT POLICIES

Save as much as $50 a class by taking full advantage of tuition discounts available to Palos Verdes Art Center members registering early.

Member Discount

Palos Verdes Art Center members save $30 per class. If you are not a member, an individual membership costs only $50 annually and a family membership, $60. (Memberships are not refundable.) You can have a wonderful time and pay for your entire membership by taking only two classes a year.

Early Bird Discount

Add on our popular Early Bird Discount, which is $20 per class and is available TO MEMBERS ONLY on all registrations (except where noted) completed by Monday, June 30, 2014.

FINANCIAL AID

Financial aid for Palos Verdes Art Center classes is provided by the Beverly G. Alpay Memorial Education Fund for the Visual Arts. Those seeking assistance pay a nominal amount ($25 per class). The Alpay Fund and the Art Center cover the rest of the tuition. Students are responsible for any supplies or special supply fees. Scholarships are not available for workshops or art camps.

Applications for financial aid must be received no later than Monday, June 30, 2014. Applicants must submit a statement explaining why they want to take the class and why they need financial assistance to do so. Proof of financial need may be requested.  

            Five scholarships are available each term. Recipients are limited to one class per family. Winter 2014 recipients are ineligible this Spring. PUBLICITY AND PHOTO RELEASE

As a student or guest at the Palos Verdes Art Center, you may be photographed or filmed on site for PVAC displays and for other publicity and public relations purposes. Submission of the registration form indicates your agreement for these purposes. If you feel otherwise, please submit a letter to the Palos Verdes Art Center, attn: Marketing Department.
