Robin Bott. (AC RB-1) Use ceramic tiles to make a mosaic frame, create a wall hanging, try glass plate collage, use pebbles and stones to fashion a nature mosaic and more!

Karla Commins (AC KC-1) Collage a fairy-godmother, assemble a fanciful landscape, construct a magic castle, make up your own stories and paint scenes from your stories.

Sandi Wilson (AC SW-1) Inspired by dessert and Wayne Thiebaud—decorate cookie treats, but don’t lose them forever! Capture them in paint before eating! Create a cake of felt and fabric. Each day brings a new treat and a new work of art!

Karla Commins (AC KC-2) Explore the garden and its intriguing creatures. Assemble giant cellophane butterflies. Use crayon-resist and paint from a bug’s point of view. Print garden scenes on t-shirts, sculpt clay creepy crawlies and construct a paper frog and lily pad.

It might be exciting, funny, sweet or fierce. It might be a wall creature or a person. Work with paper, metal, wood, paper clay and other materials.

Edie Zelon (AC EZ-1) Embellish a wooden treasure box with shells and glass beads, paint sea life on canvas, learn a special technique to replicate stained glass, sculpt a clay sea creature and try many more fun projects using watercolors, pastels and charcoals while exploring the underwater world.

SUMMER JOURNEY FROM SELF PORTRAITS TO SECRET GARDENS
Jacquie Dreager (AC JD-1) Trying to capture their personalities on canvas, artists throughout history have painted themselves. Who can forget Vincent Van Gogh’s many wild looking self portraits? Explore what is unique about you through printmaking, collage, photography and painting. Use Xerox transfer to create a secret garden with butterflies, dinosaurs, exotic plants, bugs and birds. Build a box with collage materials and a sculpture to put inside.

Sandi Wilson (AC SW-2) Experience adventure in art through fairytales and frogs, damsels and dragons! Create a collage of a beautiful princess with jewels and glitter. Paint an enchanted frog. Design a 3-D dragon or castle. Live happily ever after!

Jennifer Siegal (AC JS-1) Explore ancient Greece while painting a simple portrait of your favorite god, learning about the Greek ideal of art and sculpting a bas relief.

Alyse Anderson (AC AA-1) Build a model skyscraper from wood, cardboard and other sturdy materials; paint a city skyline, and make other crafts to explore architecture. Join a scavenger hunt on the patio to learn fun facts about architecture using drawings, photographs and written text as clues. Illustrate a postcard by drawing your favorite discoveries.

PASSPORT TO THE ARTS: AROUND THE WORLD IN JUST 5 DAYS! Class Filled
Robin Kiss (AC RK-1) Take an imaginary cruise making art projects inspired by a port of call’s culture or a master artist who called the country home. Create a “passport” stamp, explore the Orient, stop over Down Under, safari in Africa, stay in the rainforest, take a transatlantic voyage, then home to the USA. Pack light! There will be lots of souvenirs to take home!

TOY PEOPLE & OTHER CREATURES Class Filled
Teresa Tolliver (AC TT-3) Find the excitement of sculpture and motivate the imagination with painting. Create mixed media sculptures of people and animal with paper clay faces and bodies made of toys, metal, plastic objects and recycled materials. Combine drawings using oil pastels, paints and inks on a wooden base.
